Referred to as the Quality System Map (QSM), it highlighted the key elements that enable achievement of the University’s strategic goals in the areas of Research, Learning and Teaching, International and Community. It was anticipated that the QSM would contribute to enhancing UNSw staff understanding of the quality system perspective on University operations and improvement. The project also resulted in a report on the major strengths, and significant gaps in the quality system , and aspects needing improvement. Together, the QSM and the assessment document provided a preliminary framework and significant content for UNSw’s Performance Portfolio for the 2005 AUQA Audit of the University. A QSDG report ‘Planning our Future: Proposals For A New UNSw Planning Process’ was endorsed by the University Council in october 2004 after debate by the Vice-Chancellor’s Advisory Committee and approval by the Senior Management Group. This became the basis for the UNSw Planning and Review Process (PRP). The QSDG is continuing to coordinate the implementation and further development of the PRP.
