Abstract: . . . are ISO certified, including the three UPG units that serve electric, gas and water companies. As our utility friends have learned, partnering is an increasingly valuable business tool. In this issue, we highlight the Ekstrom MBSA-90 Surge Guard, borne from a partnership with ERICO, a Solon, Ohio-based 98-year old global manufacturer, highly respected for its quality engineered-product lines, including its Critec surge-protection devices. We also partnered with 110-year-old A. Rifkin Co. of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. to market the Secur-A-File, a keyless security system for sensitive, confidential documents; and the Charlotte, N.C.-based KEYper Systems, which uses Brooks padlock seals in its well known and well-respected Key Tracker key-management systems. All 400 of us at E. J. Brooks Company, Ekstrom Industries and Meter Devices-our Utility Products Group-are proud to serve and to be associated with the companies that contribute so much to the world’s health, safety and economic well-being-electric, gas and water utilities. Thank you, Zeno of Citium, for your 2,400 year-old lesson on listening. We hear you. p. 3 John K. Roessner III President E. J. It also must meet or exceed industry standards. To do this, we take into consideration the types of materials to be used and the electrical clearances required. We are also continually searching for newer and better processes, which will allow us to reduce production time and increase the quality of all our product lines. For instance, we have upgraded the design software we use in Engineering. This has enabled us to shorten the design time and get product to our customers faster. Strict quality standards Quality and safety are foremost here at Meter Devices. We all realize that every meter socket, every enclosure and every test switch that is shipped to our customers means future potential business. In August of 2001 we became ISO 9001 certified, and I believe this shows that all of the employees here are committed to maintaining strict quality and safety standards as well as being the preferred supplier to all of our customers. Improved design performance is something that is an ongoing task, and again, everyone is involved. We are always coordinating the design and production processes, which will save money and increase productivity. We look at even the smallest detail to see if we can improve on it. We are always looking for new ideas to add to our current family of products. We always have something on the burners being worked on; whether it’s to expand a current product line or a totally new product. The development becomes a team effort, we all work together . . . --3000,2,750,3153,39899
