Abstract: . . . the construction of new nuclear power plants. It is considered an important step forward for the company, as it will provide valuable experience for similar projects in the future. KoNOx, the low-temperature de-NOx catalyst developed by KOPEC, was selected as a “Next (Generation) World-Class Product (NWCP)” by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MOCIE) on Nov. 6, 2003. Thanks in part to its outstanding capability to allow reactions between nitrogen oxides and reducing . . . . . . schedule and cost. In order to systematically deal with these risks, the government has ordered KOPEC, with its vast experience in project management, to re-evaluate these risks and review methods of improving the project’s management and quality assurance system. This contract has given KOPEC a foothold to advance into the project management sector of national policy-based projects, and is expected to result in company involvement in the management of the ITER project. 5 KOPEC . . . . . . Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) in Beijing on Dec. 11th, and met with CNNC CEO Kang Rixin to discuss cooperation between the two countries regarding China’s upcoming nuclear power plant projects. The Korean delegation included presidents and top management officials from the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) and Doosan Heavy Industries, who engaged in close discussion with representatives from the CNNC about the possibility of Korean involvement in Chinese projects. The Koreans gave . . . . . . reduction reaction of selective catalysts, while also exhibiting better efficiency in removing nitrogen oxides. From an economical aspect, the KoNOx system is cheaper in terms of initial investment and operation costs than existing de-NOx systems, and the KeNOx catalyst, made from natural manganese, is about 30% less expensive than conventional de-NOx catalysts. . . . . . . satisfaction, and will continue to make efforts to enhance our management system through the monitoring of customer’s needs and expectations, changes in markets, technical advances, and project performance. KOPEC Quality Management System is certified by ISO 9001 Standards 1 2 Page 2 3 4 Page 3 The Power System Construction Division of KEPCO was awarded a steel tower foundation design service contract for the 765 kV Sinanseong- Singapyeong Transmission Line (T/L).
