The HydroX project will be the first fielded system to provide a vendor independent architecture to “glue” diverse hydrogenerator monitoring systems together (SCADA, PDA, Airgap, Vibration). The result of this work will be a completely integrated and vendor non-specific architecture for sensor data collection and trending displays, coupled to a real time diagnostic expert system for hydraulic turbine/generator condition monitoring. In the future, the HydroX could be further extended to couple to a plant-wide monitoring and diagnostic system. References 1. A. Roehl and B.
